We are soldiers of the sea, providing forces and detachments to naval ships and shore operations. We are global leaders, developing expeditionary doctrine and innovations that set the example, and leading other countries' forces and agencies in the multinational military operations. These unique capabilities make us "First to Fight", and our nations first line of defense.

U.S. NAVY

America's Navy is a force as relevant today as it's been historically significant since it's inception in 1775. The times may change, the threats may become more obscure, the complex nature of 21st century life may make the demand for such presence less obvious. However, now more than ever, the Navy is something to be aware of; something to be thankful for; and something to be proud of.

U.S. AIR FORCE

The United States Air Force has a vision of Global Vigilance, Reach and Power. That vision orbits around three core competencies: developing airmen, technology to war fighting and integrating operations. These core competencies make our six distinctive capabilities possible.

U.S. COAST GUARD

We protect the personal safety and security of our people; the marine transportation system and infrastructure; our natural and economic resources; and the territorial integrity of our nation-from both internal and external threats, natural and man-made.

U.S. SPACE FORCE

The U.S. Space Force was established Dec. 20, 2019 when the National Defense Authorization Act was signed into law, creating the first new branch of the armed services in 73 years. The Space Force is responsible for organizing, training, and equipping Guardians to conduct global space operations that enhance the way our joint and coalition forces fight, while also offering decision makers military options to achieve national objectives.

WELCOME TO PRIVATE BRUNO PHILLIP VETERANS OF FOREIGN WARS POST 688

No One Does More For Veterans In the Texas Hill Country!
VFW Post 688, located in Boerne, Texas, received its Charter in 1936.  The Post is named in honor of Private Bruno Phillip, a Boerne native and eldest son of Julius Phillip.  At the age of 30, Phillip volunteered to serve as an Infantryman in the U.S. Army during the First World War.  He was killed in action on September 3rd, 1918, during the Saint Mihiel Offensive in France.

Post 688 has over 200 members who collectively represent service to our nation in every conflict from World War II through Operation Inherent Resolve. Post 688 hosts and participates in more than forty community events throughout the year including parades, commemorations, school visits, and other events to honor veterans and our military, and to educate the community about important dates related to historical military actions that preserved the freedoms Americans enjoy today.

Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 688 holds its monthly business meeting on the second Tuesday of each month at 6:30 pm.  The meeting will be held at the Kendall Masonic Lodge.  Only VFW members are allowed to attend the monthly business meeting
